How Your Skin Can Survive the Polar Vortex

Record breaking below zero temperatures across the country has led to, in some states, illegal to be outdoors. And the Polar Vortex is born.  While women aren’t as concerned about makeup as their frostbitten fingers, for some of us, despite the cold, we are headed into the office – ski pants and all. We all know the Winter rule to never forget to moisturize, but it’s seriously serious this time.

  • Have combination to oily skin? Don’t fret to use a creamier and richer moisturizer than you normally would. You skin’s sebum (oil) won’t be shining through as much in -16 degree weather.
  • Normal to dry skin? Layer up! There are serums that help lock in moisture, first thing to apply. Then drench your skin in an argan oil or milk moisture treatment. Top off with a thick moisturizer. No flaky skin here!

Finish off with Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Sprays.  Not only does it keep makeup on, but also moisturizes the top layers of skin and makeup to combat the flakiness and drying that follows even just a few minutes of being exposed to sub-zero temperatures.

THE SCIENCE: Our patented technology forms a lightweight, breathable web on top of your makeup that slowly releases over 16 hours. The time-released evaporation retains moisture longer as it slowly evaporates throughout the day.
