My Sunday nights just got a little more exciting now that Shamless and Girls are back on TV. And coincidentally, they both have two of my major girl crushes at the moment – Emmy Rossum and Allison Williams.
But, sorry Emmy, I love your ragged, just-rolled-out-of-bed look on Shameless, Allison Williams is the winner when it comes to makeup envy. Sure, Allison would look hot rocking a seriously smoky eye or a bright shade of lipstick, but her every day makeup on the set of Girls is what I’m interested in right now. It’s the definition of subtle, wearable makeup. You can rock this look day of the week, to the office or out, and even for a red carpet event. Allison Williams reminds us of what a classic makeup look is all about. Plus, it’s universal and easy for any lady to pull off.
Allison Williams’ makeup artist, Julie Harris, dished on the products used to highlight the Girls star’s natural glow. But first, one secret tip to get her youthful, glowing skin is to prep your skin with Skindinavia Makeup Spray before makeup application.
Eyes
To get Williams’ natural smoky eye makeup look, Harris used Tarte’s Amazonican Clay Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow in Seashell Pink as the base of the eyelid. Then, taking the color Canopy from Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Eye and Cheek palette, she blended into the crease of her eyelid and the bottom lash line. Harris finished off the eyes by curling the lashes and applying Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes! 4-in-1 Mascara.
Face
Harris used Maracuja Blush & Glow Brightening Luminizer and Cheek Tint in the color Candlelight to define Allison’s cheekbones and jaw line. Tarte’s Cheek Stain was used for blush on the apples of the cheeks.
Lips
To top off the natural look Harris applied Tarte’s LipSurgence Matte Lip Tint in Exposed and then filled it in in with Glamazon Pure Performance 12-hr Lipstick in Inspired.
Finish
