Review: Taylor Swift’s Neutral Makeup at the 2012 Grammys

Taylor Swift strutted down the red carpet in an elegant Zuhair Murad dress to start off the night of the 2012 Grammys Awards. Swift won big at the 2012 Grammy Awards taking home two Grammys, one for “Best Country Song” and the other for “Best Country Solo Performance”. She was also nominated for Best Country Album for Speak Now, but lost out to Lady Antebellum‘s Own The Night.

Taylor Swift looked like her glistening, bubbly self keeping her makeup simple, hair pulled back and choosing such an intricate golden gown that complemented her features so perfectly.

She kept the makeup simple with rosy lips, lightly lined eyes and minimal jewelry. Actually, the only jewelry she wore dangly earrings. While she usually opts for a signature look of tight curls and red lips on the carpet, Taylor showed off a polished ballerina bun and neutral makeup showing off just how naturally gorgeous she really is. Her make-up was on point with slight dark liner TO top off her eyes, pink blush and lips for that overall beautiful look. So what did you all think of Taylor’s red carpet get up?

Taylor Swift’s Grammys Makeup How To:

The Face

Taylor’s complexion is absolutely gorgeous and it definitely showed at the Grammys– there is no reason to mask such a pretty face with a heavy foundation. First, start off cleansing and moisturizing.  I know I constantly forget to take off my makeup before I go to bed, but it is very important to have a good beauty routine to prevent those risky breakouts. Taylor Swift probably uses a cleanser and toner, both of which can be helpful. Clean skin is key! To get this soft matte look try using CoverGirl’s NaturaleLuxe Silk Foundation very sparingly with a damp sponge followed by Lauren Mercier’s Loose Setting Powder. The face is the most important key element in achieving that neutral makeup look so keep it simple!

The Eyes

Taylor’s eye makeup started with a sweep of  Intense ShadowBlast in Brown Bling from lash line to just above the crease.  This color is the perfect natural shadow color for that soft brown look. Follow up with a MAC’s Satin Taupe Eyeshadow in the crease and then a golden shadow lid. Run some Covergirl  Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Brown Blaze along the top and bottom lash line and smudge it a bit with a cotton bud. For the lashes, use a dark black mascara to really make the eyes pop and don’t forget to curl and apply two coats!

The Lips

Taylor’s lips look very natural, so apply Covergirl’s LipPerfection Lipcolor in Enthrall to leave the lips with the perfect stain to match the rest of the neutral makeup.
