Three Hot Spring Hairstyles

Spring is in the air so of course we want to change up our hairstyle.  Whether you want a permanent Spring ‘do with color or a temporary style for a night out. We’be got you covered. Brooklyn Decker, Emmy Rossum and Miley Cyrus pulled off our favorite Spring hairstyles that are also easy to do yourself.

Brooklyn Decker: Beachy Waves

Brooklyn Decker’s beachy hairstyle is the ultimate summer look. Beachy waves always look great, but Brooklyn Decker proves that they look even better when they’re extra full and the ends are left straight for a air-dried effect.

If you have wavy hair, towel-dried hair, massage any kind of volumizing product into your roots. Then, apply a quarter-sized amount of styling cream through your ends, working in small sections for the most even coverage. Twist and scrunch each section of the hair while blow drying, but keep it pointed downward and a few inches away from your hair. When you’re finished twisting each section, scrunch your hair while blow-drying to amp up the texture and volume.

If you have straight hair or want a more defined look, wrap sections around a medium-sized curling iron iron in alternating directions, but leave out the ends.

Emmy Rossum‘s Side Parted Bun

Emmy Rossum’s slick, side-parted look is so uber chic and its one of the easiest hairstyles to pull off. Comb lightweight gel through damp hair then use a brush to smooth hair into a low ponytail or bun.

To get Emmy Rossum’s bun, wash the hair and blow dry. Make a rigid part in the middle or the left or right side of the hair. Comb a heavy gel through the hair to the ends, starting at the roots. Comb the hair behind the ears and back toward the nape of the neck. Gather the hair into a low ponytail where the head meets the neck. Secure the ponytail with a rubber band while combing any hair bubbles straight. Twist the hair—starting at the rubber band—down to the ends while holding it straight out from the head. Wrap the twisted hair around the ponytail holder in a clockwise motion. Secure the end of the twist with bobby pins. Place bobby pins in the sides of the newly formed bun to prevent stray hairs from coming loose. Spray the bun with hairspray and add a barrette directly above the bun.

Miley Cyrus: Short Ombre

Miley Cyrus proves that the ombre trend isn’t just for long-haired gals. It looks gorgeous and very Spring in wavy, shorter bobs too. If you are going to go for this look to brighten up for spring, choose the shades that suit your skin tone by starting with your natural color and keeping lighter ends in the same color family. Avoid a harsh two-toned effect by making sure there’s a gradual lightening from roots to ends. To get her wavy effect, wrap sections of your hair around a medium-sized curling iron iron in alternating directions, but leave out the ends.
