If you’re like me, there comes a time during the year that you swap out your winter wardrobe with your summer wardrobe in your closet. It goes without saying that unless you live somewhere with the same climate all year round, you are probably wearing different types of clothes for the different seasons. The same goes with your makeup! Adjustments should be made to your makeup routines depending on the season. We’ll teach you more on how to switch up your makeup routine for summer below.
Layer on the SPF
I know I know, we probably sound like a broken record. But wearing sunscreen is crucial to the health of your skin and to protect your skin from sun damage. It’s especially important in the summer months when the sun is out for more hours during the day and there’s less cloudy days! Reapply sunscreen every two hours with SPF of at least 30 or higher.
Bronze Away, Baby
Get a sun-kissed glow by applying bronzer after your foundation, or by skipping foundation and just applying bronzer in the summer! We wouldn’t recommend mixing the two products, but instead strategically applying bronzer to areas that would naturally get more tan. Try and find a product with flecks of copper and/or gold – perfect for summer!
Skip Foundation Application Altogether
Speaking of skipping foundation, why not try going a little more natural by just applying concealer instead? Apply concealer under your eyes and to cover blemishes/dark spots, then just blend in! Super easy!
Prime Time
Applying primer after moisturizer and before the rest of your face makeup is a great way to hold makeup in place in the summer months. When it’s hot out you don’t want to feel like your face is heavy with a lot of layers, so a simple primer application will help hold makeup in place without weighing you down.
