A new eye makeup trend hit the Spring runways this season and we are totally loving this ladylike look. The pretty eye makeup, called the halo effect, was worn on the eyelids of models at Anna Sui and Burberry. To get the halo effect, dust a rosy pink eyeshadow on the eyelids. It’s a cool, unexpected eye makeup trend because rosy pinks are typically worn on the cheekbones. But not any more. Makeup artists, Wendy Rowe and Pat McGrath proved pink is a more versatile shade that can also be worn on the eyes.
Wendy Rowe, dusted pink eyeshadow on the lids of models at Burberry Prorsum, darkening the crease, and blending the outer
edges. To enhance the trend even more, she used no mascara at all. “This is how a cool girl wears pink eyeshadow”, Rowe said.Pale or dusty rose colors work best for this trend so that you don’t look like you have an eye infection. At Anna Sui, makeup artist Pat McGrath used a different technique to get the halo effect. She blended a pink cream blush on models’ eyelids and added a touch of shimmer, using her fingers to melt the cream into the skin.
For a dewy eye makeup look, finish your pink eye makeup by spraying Skindinavia Makeup Finish spray over the eyelids, while keeping the eyes closed.
