Pro Tip #57: Smoldery, Smoky Summer Eye!

With years of celebrity & editorial experience, Pro MUA James Vincent has been named “makeup artist to watch” by WWD

Makeup Artist to the stars, James Vincent, is all about a sultry smoky eye…in the SUMMER! Yes, it’s doable. James educates on what really defines a smoky eye look! He addresses the misconception of a smoky look being defined by color on your crease or a v shape, “…but really, what makes your eye smoky is the color concentrated along the lash line.” To begin, “start with a matte taupe eye shadow on crease for definition & sweep along top and bottom lash lines,” suggests Vincent, this being your foundation. You then want to line your water & lash lines with a black eye pencil and blend with a small sponge brush.  Complete the look by applying “gold eye shadow from crease to lash and also dragging over black line, to soften that black line.” He adds that it isn’t about getting the perfect line, but getting a well blended rich color along lash lines. Voila, a soft yet sexy Summer eye!
