Skincare Essentials for Your Purse

Ever find yourself out and about and realize you are in desperate need of a skincare product? There are certain products that are clutch to have in your purse (pun intended). We’ve gathered up a list of skincare product essentials for your purse that work great when you’re on the go.

Lip Balm

Lip balm or chapstick is important to have on hand, especially as we move into the drier colder months. Look for balms that have moisturizer to avoid chapped lips for longer. Now there are balms that are tinted so you can find one in a shade that matches your outfit! You can even find a shade with some sparkle for any upcoming holiday parties or events you have coming up!

In addition to your purse, plan ahead by storing a lip balm in your work backpack, car, and in various places around your home!

Here are some of our favorites:

EOS Lip Balm – we love the shape – it’s so fun!

Burt’s Bees Lip Balm – great for moisturizing!

Winky Lux Glitter Balm – your new go-to glitter balm!

Covergirl Tinted Lip Balm – cheap and tinted!

Moisturizer with SPF

If you’ve read our blog for a while, you know that we love a solid combo product. Moisturizer with SPF is perfect for a purse because it eliminates the need for two products – moisturizer and sunscreen. (And want to get even crazier? Look for one that is also tinted!) Even as we move into the winter months where you may not see the sun as much, it’s important to keep your skin protected with sunscreen. Most products are not designed to last the entire day, so moisturizer with SPF is key to have on hand so you can reapply as needed! Moisturizer keeps your face from drying out, especially as winter temperatures and wind can dry you out. Check out this post from the Strategist for the top 8 moisturizers with SPF for you to choose from.

Makeup Wipes/Makeup Spray

Dirt and grime can build up on your face throughout the day – especially if you are being exposed to crazy weather this season. After a workout class, it’s nice to have a makeup wipe or makeup spray in your purse so you can remove products from your face. The last thing you want is for breakouts to appear before a big holiday party or pictures with the fam! Leaving makeup and grime on your face clogs your pores and can lead to breakouts. We suggest keeping a travel pack of makeup remover wipes (see this one here) or a makeup remover spray (see Skindinavia’s spray here) to keep your face fresh.

Lotion

Another cold weather staple, lotion is a skincare essential for keeping your hands moisturized. Your hands can get dry very quickly with the cooler temps, especially if you are putting on mittens and washing or sanitizing your hands consistently. We suggest carrying a travel-sized tube of hand cream or lotion so that if your hands ever feel dry or itchy you can moisturize them! Here are a few options for you to try:

Solid choice – L’Occitane lotion linked here

When you need to whip out the big guns – Curel lotion linked here

Luxury choice – La Mer lotion linked here

Smells amazing – Bath & Body lotion linked here

Don’t let the cooler temps get you down! We hope these skincare essentials will not only fit in your purse, but come in handy as well!
