Pat McGrath, Dolce & Gabbana Romantic Makeup For Every Day

Pat McGrath makeup artist

Dolce & Gabbana took romantic makeup to a whole new level at the Spring 2014 Fashion show. The runway can oftentimes be a hit or miss for every day makeup inspiration, featuring alot of daring, over-the-top makeup that you’d only see on Halloween. This time though, makeup artist Pat McGrath left Dolce & Gabbana models glowing with love with his use of flushed cheeks and gold dusted eyelids that make for the gorgeous romantic makeup look.

Tips to Get Pat McGrath’s Romantic Makeup at Dolce & Gabbana

To get the rose gold eye makeup look, McGrath dusted shades of pink-gold shadow on the lids with a flick of bronze winged eyeliner. He finished off the eyes with brown eyeliner pencil on the lower lids and mascara on the top lashes.

For the dewy, sun drenched makeup look, McGrath used a light reflecting foundation one shade darker than models’ faces. A mix of apricot and peach blushes were used to create the illusion of a hot, summery flush.

Applying raspberry lipstick using his finger, Pat McGrath was able to achieve a soft, natural look on the lips that completed the fresh-faced look.

“Even though it’s a soft, romantic, cherubic look, it’s still Sophia Loren. But this time she’s in a Greek theater, and it’s sunny, hot, and a little bit Fellini.” – Pat McGrath

Pat Uses Skindinavia To Get A Dewey Glow

The dewy, natural glow look is something we all want to go for. But in the summer, that kind of “glow” comes almost automatic with our oily & sweaty skin…not so flattering. Make sure to apply a primer prior to foundation. The ideal primer should be oil-free and oil-absorbing yet nourishing and non-drying. Once finished applying all of your makeup, spray Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray over the face for dewey makeup that’s sweat proof.
