Best of Beauty from the Runways of NYFW Spring ’15

Fashion Weeks are all about forecasting styles and trends. For these 7 days we’re all eyes on the runways that zap us 3 seasons ahead of time. Here’s a spotlight of the bold and the playful beauty trends rocked at New York Fashion Week SS ’15.

TREND:  Neon

Bright and in your face colors definitely yell “playful.” Makeup Artist Yadim prepped the models for the Peter Som show with a careless brush stroke of Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids Lipstick in color Vibrant. Who says you can’t improvise with beauty?
BEAUTY TIP: use your cream blushes/bronzers as eye shadows!

TREND: Stars

Think 70’s care-free and world peace – You can add these fun star decals as temporary tattoos or stencil them onto your skin, as did Makeup Artist Pat McGrath on Kendall Kardashian for the Tommy Hilfiger Spring Show. Up for it? A highly pigmented eye liner should do the trick!

TREND: Color Matching

Make a statement by matching your manicure with your lipstick or hair piece. This bold look will make any neutral outfit POP. Or go ahead and swipe on a lipstick matching your ensemble!

TREND: Violet makeup

Deep plum lipsticks, lavender eyeshadows, violet smokey eyes: we love it all! Tom Pecheux, Head Makeup Artist for the Derek Lam show, achieved this purple eye look by dabbing lipstick on the models lids and metallic brown shadow on top. “I want the color to be there, but I don’t want it to be aggressive,” says Pecheux about achieving a barely-there effect.
