5 NYFW Spring 2015 Beauty Looks To Wear Right Now

New York Fashion Week 2014

As NYFW Spring 2015 draws to a close, we couldn’t help falling head over heels for more than a few of the gorgeous beauty looks. Why wait until Spring though? Below, find some of our favorite looks from this season, along with tips on how to wear them now.

Glittery Eyes at Anna Sui

Anna Sui’s runway show was heavily inspired by the glam rock movement of the 70s, which in turn inspired pro makeup artist and beauty legend Pat McGrath to create a very modern rock n’ roll meets disco eye makeup look. Using lash glue as adhesive, loose glitter was applied on the eye area in only 3 locations: the inner corners and center of the top and bottom lash lines. Combined with an otherwise bare face, the effect is stunning yet highly wearable. Try it out now with Urban Decay’s Heavy Metal Loose Glitters. Image via Anna Sui’s Instagram.

Bold Neon Liner at Peter Som

The models at Peter Som had fresh dewy faces, bare lips, and a graphic slash of neon orange liner running from their inner eye to the middle of their lower lash line. Makeup artist Yadim created the conceptual look based on a vivid shade of orange used througout Som’s collection – and he used lipstick, not liner! If orange isn’t your shade, any bright-colored lipstick will do. We’re partial to bright purple ourselves. To get this showstopping look, first prime skin with Skindinavia’s Oil-Control Primer Spray to ensure the lipstick doesn’t feather or run. Next, apply your chosen shade of “liner” (lipstick) with a brush or with fingers. Precision isn’t the idea here – it’s supposed to look a little less than perfect.

Bright Orange Lips at Tanya Taylor

If neon orange liner isn’t your thing, take the fun, vibrant color to your lips instead. Makeup artist Uzo for Nars created this unexpected lip look for Tanya Taylor, channeling spring’s cheerful crispness. We love it, but we think it’s highly wearable now. Much like red, orange is one of those colors that can be worn boldy or demurely, and it’s a great shade to transition from the bold brights of summer to the muted shades of autumn. Sheer Violet Eyes at Derek Lam

Purple is a notoriously hard shade to wear on the eyes – the shade can easily make you look as if you have a black eye. This striking violet eye maintains a natural vibe without resorting to shades of nude or taupe or making you look bruised. To combat these issues, pro makeup artist Tom Pecheux used MAC Pro Lipstick in Violetta on the lids followed by a metallic brown shadow. He then coated lashes in a deep purple mascara and deliberately left the undereye area bare and undefined, resulting in a bold yet non-aggressive look. Image via Derek Lam’s Instagram.

Faux Face Tattoos at Tommy Hilfiger

Tommy Hilfiger debuted an edgier look at this season’s show, looking less all-American and more sixties-era British rock n’ roll. Models strutted down the runway with temporary star-shaped tattoos across their arms, stomachs, cheeks, and faces. Pat McGrath drew the mini constellations on models with stencils, but you can take the easy route with Tattoo Junkee’s Star Glam Stamp. Just stamp a few around your orbital bone, set with Skindinavia’s Finishing Spray, and show off your new (fake) tattoo. Image via Tommy Hilfiger’s Instagram.
